The Two Tails by TheBlueGuardian The Two Tails by TheBlueGuardian
This is a painting that I have long been waiting to do.

I am really happy with this one too.

The two tailed Bijuu, from Naruto, has been described as a nekomata that has been embraced with blue flames.

The two tails has like 10 different names :I
Nibi (Literal translation of two tails)
Matatabi (I think that's her name)
Nekomata (Species)
Ikiryou (The name that the tailed beast has been given by those who encounter it, English translation means 'The Living Ghost'

Ionno, enjoy :3

Time spent: 8/9 hours

OMG!!! :iconfaintsplz::iconsaysplz: Too much awesomeness!!
Congratulations for another awesome and EPIC work you made! Those 9/8 hours were worthy in my opinion
Love the pose of the Nibi, also the color and the background too. For me, it looks like a cavern.
Again, congratulations!!

N'awww Thank you!
Yeah, the pass quickly however. Like on Friday I had like a five hour art lesson and I really enjoyed that :3
And over a few sessions of painting it goes by quickly.

Thank you again :3
Yes it is jumping out of a dark cavern/cave which ironically is filled with water.
Fire+Cat+water=good logic.

ummm...according to the wiki, the species is not a nekomata, its a bakeneko.

i have no idea what is the difference though

Well a nekomata is essentially a bakeneko with its tail split.
A bakeneko....I think is a ghost/spirit of a normal cat that is pretty mad with the world.

Uhm I think it's also just a hyper intelligent cat that can either cause a great amount of damage or a lot of good to its owners. Depending on its personality/how it has been treated.

Ionno, it's been a while since I've read up about that mythology/folklore so I can't quite remember

Thank you!
I tried really hard to get the posture correct. However I kind of screwed up with the spine and how I should've shown more curvature as the creature is slightly twisting.

Yeaah :D

Thank you x3
That composition design was originally an idea of my friend's.
I was talking to him about the sketch that I had drawn up, however I found it hard to place the nekomata into the composition without making it awkward.

So he expressed his ideas by getting out a canine puppet and positioning it to the pose he was talking about. Keeping in mind we had wondered into a puppet shop because it had two (opposing) government leaders holding hands.

I see now that you worked really hard on this one, and am unsure about it. 9 hours is a long time n effort in a piece. I have never spent that much time on a piece of art, so it is amazing when I read you spent so much effort of duration of time in this drawing. I like your drawing and am impressed with its beauty n skill level. So at least from my point of view your piece is very good and I am happy to express my encouragement to you of the drawing
